PERSONAL
I was born in Port Shepstone, Natal and come from a family of five children of which I am fourth. After completing high school, I studied a B.Sc. at the University of Pretoria. I worked full time as a teacher at a high school for 3 years.
Roly and I have been married for more than 30 years. He works for a Private hospital group. We have three children: Renè, married to Herman Ohlhoff. They now live in London and René is a play therapist; Cornè has completed his studies as a Biokinetisist and has his own business in Cape Town; and Debbi has completed her physiotherapy degree and is also working at a hospital in London where she is studying for her master’s degree.
Roland has a secular job it is therefore not always possible for him to travel with me. We strongly believe that the family is called together as a unit in ministry. Strong families ties are emphasized with Godly order in place.
We are members of the El Shaddai Christian Church and School congregation in Durbanville, Cape Town.
THE MINISTRY
Kanaan Ministries started more than 20 years ago in River of Life congregation, Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, under pastor Edward Gibbens.
Amanda's vision, from the start, was to teach God's children how to enjoy the life of victory and fullness God planned for us. We receive the fullness of the Covenantal blessings, when we apply God’s principles / ordinances in loving obedience. Amanda has been gifted to teach these principles clearly and precisely.
1. Amanda has been in the ministry for more than 20 years which started off by counselling many people for many hours during the first few years, but later a teaching on Biblical principles spontaneously developed to be able to reach more people than is possible in one on one ministry. This teaching continued to grow and develop into the Soul Care School as it is known today.
2. After moving to Cape Town in 1996, Amanda was part of a team that collated the Spiritual Mapping files which were the small beginnings of Cape Town Transformation. Noel Bell from Australia who is part of Intercessors International taught on prayer for the city, and David Tidy, from England, taught on Identificational Repentence, Leylines, and Freemason. Many prayer journeys followed.
3. In 1998 Amanda taught the Soul Care School at two large churches in Cape Town where over six thousand people attended. This teaching included the first 19 weeks of Soul Care, Course 2 (Inner Healing), Practical Application of Soul Care, the training up of Counsellors and Prayer Warriors, etc.
4. The teaching material has been approved by an International University for accreditation. It forms part of a three year degree course for the Common Wealth Open University.

NATIONAL
o Amanda works together with the prayer leaders of South Africa, ministering on cleansing the soldiers and training for war.
Many churches and fellowship groups in the country as well as abroad are using these manuals and videos to teach and train their leaders and members on how to live a life of victory. Healing of the soul does not happen overnight - it is a process. We, the Church, His Bride, need to be healed inwardly to be soldiers of stature. It is our, the children and soldiers of God's, responsibility to know who the enemy is, what our weapons are, how to use our weapons effectively and what our strategy is. Then we will be ready for battle!
o She was part of a small international team that travelled throughout South Africa to some selected high places to do strategic warfare.
Amanda and Roland also do many weekend seminars for different church denominations as well as camp meetings for men, for women, couples and families. They have travelled extensively throughout South Africa.
o Amanda ministers in prison and her Soul Care School videos are being used in the prisons with great blessings.
o Amanda is a regular speaker at National Prayer Conferences at different venues in South Africa.
INTERNATIONAL
o Amanda has traveled to Europe, often two to three times per annum over the past 13 years, visiting mainly Germany and Switzerland. We have built good relationships with the these churches and God is doing powerful work in their lives! Amanda has also ministered in Portugal, Austria (Maria Prean), Italy, Taiwan and USA. Some of our material has been translated into Portuguese, French and the most has been translated into German and Italian and is in the process of being translated into Chinese. The International Ministry has been founded on the principle of relations based on the joining together of like-minded ministries who recognized the calling of spiritual fathering and mothering, i.e. the release of generational blessings.
We have submitted this ministry under the covering body of Stiftung B/e/t/e (Basel for Unity, Transformation and Revival) with respect to the European mission trips. They represent a large portion of the leadership of Fathers and Mothers in Switzerland.
o Amanda has been a speaker
at a number of international conferences; e.g.
1. the African speakers at the International Women's Convocation of the Methodist
Episcopal Church.
2. Washington D.C, USA, to minister at their Intercessors Conference (Bishop
Harry Jackson).
o She has taught and trained some of the top counsellors and leaders in Germany at the training centre of Christoph and Utta Haselbarth.
o Amanda and Roland have ministered in Uganda for the last two years at their National Intercessors Conference, teaching on prayer, warfare and family living.

MATERIAL
Amanda has been called into a teaching and prophetic ministry. Her main gifting has been to find ways to present God's Father Heart to His children in the clearest possible way. Much of her material is now available on dvd/video/audio tapes, manuals and booklets.
Roly has also written books on the understanding of our Hebraic roots - understanding the Messianic perspective of the feasts and how to restore the Family Blessings - the important role of the fathers!
