The Scriptures are clear that God scattered the people over the face of the whole earth.
Genesis 11:4, 8 “4 And they said, Come, let us build us a city and a tower whose top reaches into the sky, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered over the whole earth. 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from that place upon the face of the whole earth, and they gave up building the city.”
The people, tribes, and nations that came to make their home at the Southern most tip of Africa were the Khoi. We call these people grouping the First People Nations.
The First People Nations established the foundation for the spiritual realm in that area where they came to stay. The Khoi developed a unique religious belief by combining the worshipping of nature, shamanism, and some occult practices.
As such, they up set a foundation of pagan belief as the basis for South Africa’s spirituality. These people welcomed the settlers to Cape Town with open arms and without any understanding of the consequences that could follow. The Khoi were severely impacted with the coming of the settlers, many dying from the scourge of smallpox introduced by the European ships that docked in Cape Town. Later the settler militias [commandos] literally hunted these people in what can only be described as wanton genocide.
History has shown that the Khoi have been persecuted, exploited, and raped by every tribe of people who later came to stay. Today intercessors, church leaders, and businessmen have come to an understanding that the Khoi have a unique role to play in the spiritual destiny of South Africa. As such, they have come to set up the Khoi Heritage Foundation as a means of bringing restoration, empowerment, and healing to the Khoi People.
The Khoi Heritage Foundation …
A group of Khoi pastors have in conjunction with other spiritual leaders, embarked on a path of restoration. This entails not only repentance for the pagan belief system, but the acceptance of their mandate of leadership in respect of spiritual matters in South Africa.
We are honored to have been asked to take part in this journey of restoration. Kanaan Ministries now serves on the advisory board of the Khoi Heritage Foundation of South Africa.
